This conversation will highlight how Hollywood, social media, and society have supported and glorified the sex trade. From the movie Pretty Woman to social media platforms like TikTok promoting OnlyFans, the sex trade is portrayed as a lucrative and empowering industry.

The harsh realities are very different. Violence, manipulation, and exploitation is the norm for people in prostitution. Our speakers, Esperanza Fonseca, Strategic Advisor for World Without Exploitation, Maria Elisa Escobar, Social Media Director for the WorldWE Youth Coalition, Mitha Choudhury, the Program Coordinator at the EMPOWER Center, and Erin Regan, an author and educator will dive deeper into the media and messages of the sex trade that are upholding the commodification of human beings.
